Welcome to the Col de la Bonette, one of the highest passes in Europa. The Col de la Bonette is a monster of a climb in its own right, with the Alpine ascent which is known from the Tour de France.This video includes the Cime de la Bonette, the final push to the altitude of 2802 meters above sea level. The climb is hard, but also relatively steady. What you will need is endurance. Keep pushing those watts, but also save some for the final part as you attack the Cime de la Bonette where the grades reach 12%.     Yes, will ride this for real this summer - got the family in tow, so they could drive up with car slowly, and meet them all at the top! Not sure there is a cafe at the top LOL...but anyway, time to ride this on Rouvy. Thanks for your huge efforts in video-ing this for us all to enjoy indoors and recci for outdoors.

    Great, thanks! I've done it a couple of times in real life, cycle-camping in the 1980s, on the second time getting very cold in rain and initially sheltering in an abandoned gun emplacement on the S side descent, then realising I must get down to St. Etienne or risk dying of exposure :0 Today I set jonb42 as a pacemaker but he is clearly a master tactician and kept plenty in reserve for the final km where he put out 4+w the whole time and blew me away.
