    Difficult? Not really. Long? Absolutely, just too long. Avg rider likely going to spend somewhere from 2.5 to 3.5 on the trainer. Prepare accordingly.

    Great tough ride. Pace yourself for the first 40km, save something in reserve for the final 15km @7% uphill. I watched many people blow up on course. I am not a climber and I finished it, just settle in for a long ride.

    Die ersten 35km sind leider relativ langweilig und "zäh" - das ganze zieht sich.. Am Ende wird's etwas anstrengender ; aber wirklich bei "Laune" hält die Tour nicht .. da gibt es schönere und vor allem abwechslungsreichere Touren... so lange man aber am Ende "fertig" vom Bike steigt ;)- ist alles gut .. von daher hat sie auch 4**** verdient

    So here’s a long trip with the first 40km alternating between bigger roads (with the typical French roundabouts) and beautiful roads in hte valley surrounded by mountains. It only gets better later in the ride when climbing the actual col. Some of the views are magnificent, both in the valley and on the actual mountain. You will go through tunnels carved out in the mountain, oversee beautiful green valleys and green-covered mountaintops, as well as ride through really cute French mountain-villages.

    On the downside however, despite the views, this ride is just too long to really enjoy. The section leading to the climb is long and can become boring. The climb itself is challenging, definitely after you’ve spent 40km on the bike already and are dripping in sweat already. But then again, some like a good challenge.
